PLVN has a new Executive Officer 

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Karen Ward-Smith has been appointed to the position of Executive Officer for PLVN. The Executive completed interviews with the MAV,  in the week prior to Christmas and as a result Karen commenced duties at the MAV, on the 25th January 2013.


Karen comes to us with 25 years of experience in local government and many of you will be familiar with Karen in her more recent role as Manager of Libraries, Arts and Heritage Services for the City of Greater Dandenong. Karen has also been working with our colleagues’ at DPCD on the Tomorrow’s Library project and was a hard working member of the Library Agency Team project managing the National Year of Reading 2012.

The appointment will enable PLVN to continue to support its members, and respond to the challenges that face public libraries into the future and also to build on the solid administrative base that Elisabeth has developed over her four years in the position.
