She has a wealth of library experience and has worked in school, prison and public libraries in the UK. She has also worked as a Literature Officer for "Spread the Word". Fidelma has a very strong background in reader development and social inclusion (multicultural) services and was responsible for writing key strategies and funding submissions as well as undertaking advocacy work in these areas while working as the Service Development Manager : Reader Development at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Library Service and before that at the London Borough of Haringey Library Service. Fidelma started at Moreland on 4 January.
Michael Scholtes - Manager of Melton Libary and Information Service and PLVN Executive member - has recently become a grandfather for the first time. Ewan arrived a few weeks early and his mother, Dianne was at work at Sydenham Library until the last minute. Past and present Hume Libraries staff will remember Michael calmly working at Sunbury Library while his wife Kathy was in labour with their third child. Congratulations to Grandpa Michael.
