Please find attached the Call for Abstracts and Submission form for our third annual public libraries mini-conference, which will be held at the State Library on 20 April 2017.
Our theme is Transforming Public Libraries. It refers to both the power of public libraries to transform communities and transform people’s lives, and to the ongoing transformation of public libraries to meet 21st century customer needs. Abstracts are invited from all Victorian public library service staff; joint submissions are welcome.
We are delighted to advise that our keynote speakers will be Carolyn Robertson, chief executive of Christchurch City Libraries, and Justine Hyde, Director Library Services and Experience at State Library Victoria.
Details about registering for the conference will be provided mid-February 2017. For now, please mark the date in your diaries.
Please email abstracts using the attached form to our Project Coordinator, Susie Prestney: email@example.com<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org> by 23 January 2017. Enquiries are welcome by email or phone (8664 7045).
The 2015 and 2016 mini conferences were fantastically successful, an inspiring showcase of innovation in Victorian public libraries, providing great networking opportunities and generating a huge buzz of excitement. They have been one of the best professional development opportunities of the year for all public library staff. We want to maintain the momentum and we need your input to do it, so please put your thinking caps on about potential abstracts. It’s your ideas and your contributions that will make this mini conference great.
We look forward to receiving your submissions by 23 January 2017
