New report from OCLC

January 25, 2017

The rise in usage of electronic resources amongst students and researchers cannot be overstated. Yet despite this, people still associate the library with books and not in relation to online resources. This is according to a new compilation from OCLC Research, The Library in the Life of the User: Engaging with People Where They Live and Learn.

The work, which represents more than a decade of studying library users, suggest the reason people may not use libraries to get information is because are simply not aware that they offer relevant resources, or because services are not convenient and do not fit with their existing information seeking workflows.
